Simple Board & Batten Door Frame
First I cut two vertical boards the same height. They are going to rest on top of that little horizontal shelf that I made in the board and batten tutorial earlier. I cut them to the off so they ended right where the top of the doorway started.
Then I cut another one horizontally that was the width of the doorway plus the width of the two boards.
Next I cut a piece to form a little shelf like the two vertical boards are resting on. It’s really just another batten on it’s side.
Then I cut a piece of cove molding and nailed it in on under the ledge. That’s it! 5 pieces of wood, and I finally have a door way that is finished off.
