It was a very merry Christmas for me. I was given lots of wonderful gifts that will help me with my blogging. I know most girls want jewelry and stuff, but my wish list was pretty much tools. Here are some of the cool things I got this year.
A Silhouette Cameo. I’m so excited about this. I can’t wait until the vinyl arrives. I wanted a Silhouette because I like to create my own designs rather than buying cartridges. I can’t wait to get started! My only issue is finding enough space on my desk for it. I run a graphic design business out of my office, and I already have a rather large sewing machine on my desk full time. Add to that two computers and printers, etc., and you have a very full office. I’ve decided that my office is going to get a makeover this year as one of my blog projects.
I also scored a router table and router as a black friday deal. This means I can make picture frames and many other things. I can’t wait to try this all out!
These router bits look like lots of fun and give me lots of options for different designs in the wood.
I got this Dremel Trio. I’d never heard of it before, and it was a total surprise. It came with a circle cutter, which is think will be handy. Also, I think this will work well with my wainscot project I have planned in my laundry room. It should come in handy with cutting out outlet holes.
My husband also surprised me with this Dremel Drill Press. I had no idea Dremel even made a drill press adaptor. But this might come in handy to have the extra control when drilling holes.
I also got a Kreg Jig, which is something I have been wanting for a while. This is something that I’ve wanted for a while because I’ve never been able to join right angles without having the screws show. This is a much cleaner option.
And finally, my brother bought me an electric staple gun. I think this will save my hands on some upholstery projects I have planned. I also have stretched some of my own canvases in the past, and I remember getting cramps in my hands from using a staple gun.
As you can see, I was given way more than I deserve! But I hope these things help me to bring some more exciting projects to my blog in 2012.
What about you? What were your favorite gifts this year?
